Four Back Exercises for Women: A Cable Workout

A strong, defined upper body includes a strong back.

Glute and thigh training often gets plenty of attention, but back training deserves a place in your routine too. Developing your back can help you feel confident in an open-back outfit or swimwear while building a more balanced upper body.

Try the following cable exercises as part of your back training:

  • Dual-cable lat pulldown.
  • Half-kneeling single-arm lat pulldown.
  • Overhand cable row.
  • Standing bent-over cable row with a V-grip attachment.

The suggested workout uses 5 sets of 12 repetitions for each exercise. Adjust the load and number of sets to your experience and ability to maintain controlled technique.
